Cleanup at Sawyer Rec Area is Appreciated

Stearns District Ranger Fred Noak:

Please allow me to thank you for the excellent job o cleaning up Sawyer Recreation area.

Although you were ordered to close this facility, in meeting with you an regional Supervisor Mr. Perez, you did authorize keeping the three picnic sites closest to the parking area open for our citizens to use. For this we are most appreciative.

The cleanup crew left two picnic tables for me, as I requested, and we thank you. Both are in very bad shape and will take considerable work to make them usable. I had a friend take them to my cabin Saturday.
