Kudos to Stone Arches & Veterans

Dear Editor,
I wanted to begin by applauding the efforts of the McCreary County Performing Arts Council who recently entertained and amazed with their performance of Stone Arches. If you missed this production, I only hope it is given a reprise at some future time so all will have the chance to experience this wonderful play. Great job by all involved.
I also want to thank and commend the local VFW Post for their September 19th ceremony on the courthouse steps remembering our country’s POWs and MIAs. The ceremony began with a beautiful performance of the National Anthem by Pam Patrick followed by remarks from Korean War veteran Dr. Gilbert Vanover. Our county should be very proud of the service of all the men and women who have served in uniform from this county.
In case you were unaware, McCreary County Judge Executive Blaine Phillips, by proclamation, has declared Saturday October 4th as Welcome Home Warriors Day in McCreary County. This coincides with our annual McCrearyFest Day and Parade and Jack Koger is currently seeking all men and women who have served in uniform and especially those who have served and returned home to McCreary County since 9/11.
If you are in this group and want to be recognized for your service at McCrearyFest, please contact Mr. Koger at 376-8737 or (859)396-5905 or e-mail jack_koger@hotmail.com.
