BREAKING NEWS: Church loses pastor

STEARNS — A local church has lost its pastor.

Rev. Glenn Whitehead, 61 of Revelo, passed away on Friday May 22, 2009, at St. Mary's Scott County Hospital in Oneida following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Monday at the East Stearns House of Prayer, where Whitehead had served as pastor for some 23 years, with Bro. Danny Cope and Bro. Donnie Jones officiating. Rev. Whitehead was laid to rest in the Nancy Grave Cemetery.

He was born on Wilson Ridge on November 30, 1947, son of the late Denton and Ethel Ross Whitehead.

Survivors include his wife Jewell Clark Whitehead, and 2 sons; Glenn Allen Whitehead of Ringgold, Georgia and Jonathon Mark Whitehead of Revelo, KY. There is one daughter, Rhonda Gail Whitehead of Oneida, Tennessee. 2 brothers, Ardell Whitehead and George Whitehead, both of Hilltop and 3 sisters, Wilma Sterling of Stearns, Alma Daugherty of Hilltop and Audrey Jones of Stearns.
