Teen flasher bares it all

‘I did it for the thrill’

By JANIE SLAVEN

SMITHOWN — A Smithtown man has been charged after flashing a local mail carrier.

McCreary County Sheriff's Detective David Sampson sought to charge Jacob Tucker, 19, on September 30 with one misdemeanor count of indecent exposure.

The charge stems from Tucker exposing himself to the mail carrier working the delivery route including his Milton Ross Road address. The McCreary County Sheriff's Office was notified by the U.S. Postal Service, which sent postal inspector Kyle Erhardt to accompany the carrier along the route to witness the flasher in the act.

Detective Sampson and the Inspector Erhardt then spoke with Tucker regarding the incident. Tucker reportedly told authorities that "he was doing it just for the thrill."

Det. Sampson told The Record that he was initially unable to get the arrest warrant signed by a judge but that Tucker had agreed to turn himself in when the paperwork was in place.

Court records indicate that Deputy Jerry Meadows served Tucker with the warrant last Tuesday. Tucker has been scheduled for arraignment in McCreary District Court on November 5.
