Don Warren dies at 76

Ran ‘The Spot’ during its prime

WHITLEY CITY — Donald Warren, 76, passed away last Tuesday. He is remembered as the long-time manager of the former Food Fair grocery

store and owner of the Triple Crown Restaurant, a landmark along U.S. 27 up until the 1980s.

Perhaps better known as “The Spot,” the restaurant was located where Burger King is now. It served as a Greyhound Bus stop.

Warren was a member of Walkers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and McCreary County Senior Citizens. He served in the U.S. Army during the

Korean War.

Funeral services with military honors were provided by American Legion Post 115 were held Friday with burial following in Lakeside Memorial

Gardens at Somerset.
