5k Walk/Run is Saturday

STEARNS —   The Get Healthy McCreary County Coalition, McCreary County Tourism, and the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area have teamed up to host a 5k Walk/Run this Saturday in Stearns.

    Registration begins at 7 a.m.  at the BSFNRRA Ranger Station off Wilburn K. Ross Highway with the event starting at 8 a.m.

    The course runs along Wilburn Ross, KY 1651, Clubhouse Road, Larmee Street, Culver Lane and Hume Drive back to the Ranger Station.

    Awards will be given for Overall Male and Female Winner, Top Three Finishers and first-place Walker in each age division, Oldest/Youngest Registered, and Best Costume.

    A registration fee is required. Funds raised will be used to design and develop a trailhead for the Stearns Trail Town project. The area will include an outdoor classroom/information center.
