Arnold Mayes

Mr. Arnold Mayes, age 62 of Hawthorne, FL, passed away on Thursday July 17, 2008. Mr. Mayes was born on June 29, 1946 to Vantoy and Edna Shepard Mayes in Cumberland Gap, TN. He proudly served in the US Army in the Vietnam War. He was the owner/operator of Arnold and Chad's Service Center in Hawthorne. Mr. Mayes was a member of the Bethel Assembly Church of God in Interlachen, FL.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Rhea Taylor Mayes of Hawthorne, FL; mother, Edna Mayes of Speedwell, TN; daughters, April Kimbery Wiggins (Steve) of Ocala, FL and Tracy Dawn Wood (Eric)of Live Oak, FL; son Chad Esbon Mayes (Melissa) of Melrose, FL; brothers, Dan Mayes of Oak Ridge, TN, Don Mayes of Ft. Wayne, IN, David Mayes, Steve Mayes and Jerry Mayes all of Speedwell, TN; Sisters, Ruby Lengasher of Ft. Wayne, IN, Linda Welch, Annette Powell, Gail Schultz and Lisa Pitman all of Speedwell, TN and five grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 22, 2008 at 2:30 pm at the Hayes Creek Cemetery, with military honors provided by the US Army Honor Guard of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1pm until 2pm at Pine Knot Funeral Home.
