William R. "Bill" Lavender

Memorial services for William R. "Bill" Lavender, 78, of Longview, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Pine Tree Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Mark Horner officiating.

Mr. Lavender passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, in Longview.

Mr. Lavender was born August 26, 1930, in Revelo, Kentucky, to Jessie Raymond and Irene Jones Lavender. He enjoyed camping and traveling. He retired from the F.A.A. and Darby Equipment.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kent; and brothers, Ralph, Bobby and James.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Lavender; children and spouses, Tim and Joy, Greg, Jace and Cricket, Tracie and Andrew, Rann, and Cindy; several grandchildren; brothers, Dee and Jack; and sisters, Elizabeth, Ruth and Barbara.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, immediately following the memorial services, at the church.
