Arlie Hill, Junior, age 64

Arlie Hill, Junior, age 64, of Stearns, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at his home.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Hill and Bro. Hap Strunk officiating. Burial followed in the Hill Cemetery.

He was born on May 6, 1944 in Bell Farm, Kentucky to Arlie Hill, Sr., and Hattie Lee Gregory Hill. Before his retirement, June worked at the Justus Mines in Stearns and owned Hill’s Grocery in Revelo for five years. He was a member of the Justus Mines Burial Fund and served on the Board of Directors. June was a member of the Bell Farm Baptist Church and was ordained as minister at Bell Farm in December 1984. He had served as Pastor of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and Beech Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed music, gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, the outdoors, and caring for his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, James Rufus Hill, a granddaughter, Hannah Lee Hill, two infant siblings, Bud Roy Hill and Gladys Hill, his sisters, Shirley Thomas, Patsy Kidd, and Kathleen Koger, his mother-in-law and father in-law, Gale and Anna Foster, and four brothers-in-law, Chester Bell, Roscoe Thomas, Rufus Kidd, and John David Foster.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ruth Foster Hill, of Stearns, whom he married on September 24, 1969, two sons, Phillip Brian Hill and his wife, Christy, and Arlie Hill III and his wife, Sharon, a daughter, Amy Wilson and her husband, Grady, six grandchildren, two brothers, Howard Hill, of Hinesville, Georgia and Glen Doyle Hill and his wife Phyllis, of Attica, Indiana, two sisters, Betty Jo Bell, of Selma, Indiana, and Margie Ella Stewart and her husband, Gene, of Alexandria, Kentucky, a brother-in-law, Danny Koger and his spouse, of Muncie, Indiana, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
