Clyde Coffey Arnold

Clyde Coffey Arnold, age 92, husband of Claralee (Witte) Arnold, died on April 13, 2014. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Central Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Burial followed in the Camp Nelson Cemetery.

 He was born in Lancaster, Kentucky on April 8, 1922. Clyde was a graduate of New Albany High School in 1940, a Veteran of WWII, having served the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific on four Major Invasions, Siapan, Tinnian, Leyte, and Luzon was honorably discharged on Dec. 24, 1945. Clyde graduated from the Transylvania University in 1950 with an AB degree in Religion and Philosophy.

Clyde served as a Minister of several Disciples of Christ Christian Churches in Kentucky for over 40 years. He was chairman of the board of Elders in 1970 at Central Christian Church, Scoutmaster of Troop #4, a member of Central Christian Church since 1951, and was baptized April 19, 1933 at the Christian Church in Danville. Clyde was also an electrical engineer of the first dial phone system in Lexington. He was united in married on October 8, 1948, to Claralee Witte, for 57 years.

Preceding him in death are his parents and his wife, Claralee.

Survivors are three sons, Stephen Mark (Elsie), David Alan (Sonya)(Christa) and Richard Lee (Jan). His living relatives include two brothers, John, Edward and one sister, Mary, plus several nieces and nephews, 8 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren.

Contributions to Central Christian Church, Lexington Theological Seminary or Transylvania University.
