SOMERSET — Two Oakwood Manor employees have been arrested for patient neglect.
Coty King, 22, of Pine Knot was arrested Monday as he went to work at the Somerset facility for the developmentally disabled. He is accused of enticing one adult patient to hit another and recording the incident on his cell phone.
According to Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway, Oakwood personnel notified an investigator with his office's Department of Criminal Investigaors after learning about the incident.
King pled not guilty to two counts of knowing neglect of a vulnerable adult during his arraignment Wednesday.
That night a second suspect — 21-year-old Cody Burton of Burnside — was arrested and charged with two counts of knowing neglect of a vulnerable adult and one count of failure to report the neglect.
The young men face 5-10 years in prison if convicted of felony neglect. Failure to report is a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days.
