Pine Knot woman jailed after brandishing gun

Alleged to have suffered drug-induced hallucinations

REVELO —  A Pine Knot woman was taken into custody last Wednesday evening after officers were called to a residence off Pig Skin Road.

Brandi S. Stephens, 27, has been charged with first-degree Wanton Endangerment, Possession of a Handgun By a Convicted Felon and Public Intoxication from a controlled substance excluding alcohol.

According to McCreary County Sheriff Gus Skinner, the charges stem from an incident beginning Wednesday afternoon when his department was dispatched to Stephens’ residence off Pig Skin Road. Once there he and Deputy Joe Horne discovered Stephens had threatened to kill another female with a .22-calibre RG-14 revolver.

Sheriff Skinner reported that Stephens was apparently suffering hallucinations as she came down from a four-day methamphetamine binge. She was taken into custody without injuring anyone.

Stephens remained lodged in the Casey County Jail under a $7,500 cash bond at press time.

Dep. Horne served as arresting officer in the case.
